The history of Sola Strand Hotel goes back to 1914, right before the outbreak of the First World War. In that year the construction of the hotel was started by restaurateur R. Christoffersen of the Sandnes Steamboat Company.

Sola Strand Hotel consists of an elegant and open-plan reception area, 80 bright and pleasant rooms with a total of 126 beds, the Strandbaren bar and adjoining outdoor seating area, a top-class restaurant, a vast wine cellar, excellent events facilities and two modern conference centres that can accommodate up to 300 people. There is also a tennis court and a small golf course in the hotel grounds. Soft sand dunes, long beaches and the open sea are right outside the hotel.
